American Lamb Meatballs with Lemon Mint Yogurt Sauce

Ingredients

1 lb Ground American lamb

1/4 cup Shallots or white onion, finely diced

1 tbsp Fresh mint, finely chopped

1 tbsp Fresh cilantro, finely chopped

2 cloves Garlic, minced

1 tsp Ground coriander

1 tsp Kosher salt

1/2 tsp Ground cumin

1/4 tsp Cinnamon

1/4 tsp Freshly ground black pepper

Yogurt Sauce

6 ounces Greek yogurt

3 tbsp Fresh cilantro, finely chopped

3 tsp Fresh mint, finely chopped

1 tsp Ground cumin

Zest 1 lemon, minced

pinch Sea salt & freshly ground black pepper

Directions

1Preheat the oven to 375°F.

2Combine all meatball ingredients in a large bowl and mix thoroughly with your hands.

3Form into about 30 meatballs (about 2 teaspoons each) and place on a lightly greased baking sheet.

4Bake until meatballs are no longer pink in the middle, about 14-15 minutes.

5Meanwhile, combine all yogurt ingredients in a small bowl and season with salt and black pepper. Mix well. Serve on top of meatballs and/or with a side to dip the meatballs into.
