 1 lb American Lamb sirloin or leg steak, 1-inch thick
 1 tsp lemon pepper
 Mint Chutney (recipe follows)

 0.50 cup golden raisins
 0.33 cup white wine vinegar
 0.33 cup mint jelly
 0.25 cup finely chopped crystallized ginger
 0.25 cup finely chopped onion

Cut lamb into 4 portions. Sprinkle lightly with lemon pepper.

To Broil: Cook lamb 4 inches from heat source for 7 to 10 minutes on each side or to desired degree of doneness: 145°F for medium-rare, 160°F for medium or 170°F for well. Cover and let stand for 10 minutes. Internal temperature will rise approximately 10 degrees

To Grill: Cook lamb over medium-hot coals. Grill 4 inches over coals for 7 to 10 minutes on each side or to desired degree of doneness: 145°F for medium-rare, 160°F for medium or 170°F for well. Cover and let stand for 10 minutes. Internal temperature will rise approximately 10 degrees.

Serve with Mint Chutney

In small saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 6 minutes. Pour into a bowl. Cover and chill 2 to 4 hours.
